It's Saturday night and my dinner is just settling. Some people might be on their way to bed after a busy week and a full meal, but me not so much. The movie is half way through and what happens ? Yep, you guessed it, snack time !!!! What can I do ? I love bread but I´m trying to stay off gluten and wheat so I just whip up some bread sticks with no gluten and wheat! How is that possible ha-ha ?
Well I use my microwave and after 15 Min OK maybe 20 Min I have 6 steaming hot garlic buttered bread sticks on a plate, waiting to be eaten. I even made a dip, but regular pizza sauce is OK too. I really recommend these hot little guys for a weekend craving snack, it is soo good.
1 tbsp cream
2 tbsp coconut flour
140 g shredded mozzarella
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1-2 tbsp parmesan cheese
Heat a regular oven to 180°C. Meanwhile melt the cheese in a microwave (in a microwave safe bowl) for 30-60 sec. Stir occasionally.
Blend the egg, cream and coconut flour and stir, you must do this quickly. Pinch the dough and pull out 6 equal size bits. Roll them into sticks and place on a oven mat.
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake in the oven for 10 - 12 minutes.
If you like garlic butter you can melt 2 tbs of butter with 1/2 tsp garlic paste and as soon as the bread sticks come out of the oven, drizzle them with butter.
For dipping I recommend mixing pizza sauce HUNTS 2 tbs and 1 tbs Franks hot sauce or some Tabasco for extra heat.
