My sister is such a do-er and she is often asked if she has more than 24 hours a day! That is not the case, she is simply a super organized person! So much so that after the birthday party we held for her son the other day and I went home to relax.. she went home to make some Christmas candy! I mean seriously!!? Chill woman!!!
"No no, it's the simplest recipe ever" -she said... "Well I don't care, you still have to have the energy and drive to actually make it happen!"
I do admit that I am very envious as well as in total awe of her enthusiasm!
Simply melt 200 grams of dark chocolate over a water bath, she used 70%
You pour this into a bonbon form and she has these silicone forms that are very nice and easy to use. You can also pour it over a baking paper covered plate and let it harden in a cooler or freezer.
Then you melt another 200 grams of white chocolate over a water bath and while that is melting you can start breaking the peppermint candy or Christmas canes.
When the chocolate is melted you pour it over the dark chocolate and distribute the broken bonbon pieces all over. Once again you let it harden in a cooler or freezer and simply pop the pieces out of the silicone mould when fully cooled, or break the sheet into differently sized pieces.
This could also be a cute gift for a loved one in a pretty jar with a bow or a bag like Kristín Vald has done here:
A little side story: Her blog is absolutely AMAZING! She is the most amazing photographer and she styles all her shoots so remarkable well! Her girls are of course gorgeous and seriously, try to understand my enthusiasm here: this blog, dear lord, this blog is in one word: WONDERFUL!
Or you can simply enjoy them with your family and friends in some lovely surroundings! I know I will at María's!
