Positivity in the form of Geocahing
Yes sometimes we need a little inspiration for something good and healthy for our body and soul. I’m not exactly the picture of health and enjoy my occasional drink and should eat way less sugar like my sister, but I do love a good walk especially if it has a purpose.. well that will get me going!
This is a wonderful game concept that has been up and running since May 2000, the year the GPS system became public! A guy called Dave Ulmer decided to try out the system and check if it really worked by going out and hiding a “treasure” or a bucket with several items and he signed in the coordinates. Someone went out and found the treasure and reported back to Dave: It works!! So the game began and is now up and running all over the world!
As they describe it on their webpage: Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
Now you can also get an app to your phone and I love that, I don‘t have to prepare anything beforehand, I just go out for a walk and I can check at any point if there is something hidden close by.. so very exciting! Plus this is a great way to get the kids out for a walk, a real „carrot“ that you might find some treasures! (And believe me, the grownups are no less excited then the children!)
Please check out their site and read all about this extraordinary game!
