Now the bathroom was a bliss to renovate. Originally we had imagined the whole house much lighter! Basically we were going to go all white, light light grey and use white decorations. That changed quite quickly because we wanted a cosier feel, but we however kept the bathroom kind of in the original theme. Very light with lots of white accents!
Firstly we cleaned out all of the wall hung shelves and units of the bathroom to get a clean slate because when it was time to hang everything back up we kind of just went with the flow.
Luckily our past owners did all of their finishing’s to the top with the highest quality so we could use mostly everything again with a little tweaking and painting.
The white wooden backsplash behind the zinc was something we wanted to update slightly so we covered it with a plastic marble looking foil. Such an easy thing to do to get a more expensive and clean look. Just take care that you don’t get any air bubbles.
We changed the light above the mirror for a bit more romantic shade but we kept the shelves, simply painted them white!
This is a smart solution for the toilet paper rolls we have in our store at Akureyri, you can also read about it here:
The floors we lacquered with dark grey and made a stencil in the shape and form we liked. When the grey paint had dried we brushed through the holes lightly to get a sort of a shading effect with white paint. This ended up as such a cool and very cheap solution to this floor!
The Crabtree & Evelyn products are so nice and we used them for the bathroom. We chose the Caribbean Island collection because it smells and looks wonderful!
