My sister and our partners love to travel and decided to book a family trip together to France, Provence to be exact!
Its my first time travelling to France and I can't wait! I lived in Barcelona for couple of years and feel the Mediterranean suits me very well, (must have been an Italian in my previous life or something!) The food, the climate, the oil, nature, and wine.. it all just somehow fits really!
Here we are, just after booking the trip!!
"Oui monsieur"..
We will bring our cameras, computers and phones so the whole trip will be well documented! We even added Snapchat for this event and invite you to follow.. It is mostly in Icelandic but if you get a kick out of listening to some crazy people rambling on about how they are enjoying life, even if you don't understand it fully, feel free to follow! :)
We will be leaving Iceland 28th of mai and will stay in France for 12 days! Me, my sister, our partners and my two little nephews!
We are flying to Lyon and will take a rental and drive to a tiny village called Saumane de Vauclause which is set on a rock perch in a sea of green forested hills. The town is apparently wonderful and tiny with one coffee house, loads of hike trails, calm and I cant wait to get acquainted!
It is located about 2,5 hour drive distance from Lyon and is very close to a larger town called Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Meaning we will be spending our time in the Provence region which is known for its acres of lavender, markets, food, museums, sunflowers and olive trees!
The plan is to do a bit of travelling around the neighbouring towns, check out Marseille and enjoy!
It's amazing what you can find many fantastic listings on Airbnb.
In our town, Saumane de Vaucluse, we found a wonderful house through Airbnb in beautiful surroundings with a cute little garden, a tiny swimming pool, a patio and fantastic interior!
Everything looks soooo nice!
I think we will manage!!!... ;)
We figure we will stay here the whole time, but we could always do one night somewhere if we want to change the surroundings!
The food in Provence is amazing!
We even got a cook book in Icelandic made by a mother and daughter that focuses on food and recipes in the region of Provence! How perfect is that?!
So we plan to shop at the markets and cook some local dishes, how sweet!!
SO EXCITED!!!
Till next time darlings!
