The newest addition from Krista is the bookmark owl.
Krista took part in a competition held by the museum Ásmundarsafn and this design was chosen amongst the top 10 ideas and now it is finally for sale!
It is designed based on the statue UGLA by Ásmundur Sveinsson.
Ásmundur Sveinsson was an Icelandic sculptor born 1893 and died 1982. He believed that art should be for the people and have its place among them. He was called the “poet of the people” in the field of art and he was famous for his simple, clean, figurative, and abstract sculptures and many have been enlarged for outdoor use and as monuments.
Most of his sculptures were conceived as works for public spaces, an integral part of their environment or designed for utility.
Ásmundur bequeathed Reykjavík its home as well as his art. Ásmundarsafn was formally opened in the spring of 1983. Exhibitions of his projects are held there regularly as well as showings from other artists.
The bookmark is an ideal graduation gift and the packaging can be used as a card along with a present or just stand alone as a gift.
It is made of stainless steel.
