Theodóra, one of our staff members in the store got to select the newest Essie colours for the fall. We asked her to tell us a little bit about the colours she chose and why.
Essie is my favourite nail polish label, and when it gets to nail polishes my inner crazy really comes out! I am addicted to these lovely little bottles filled with coloured goodness. Essie has such a fantastic range of colours, they are soft and spread evenly across the nail. I also find they do not tend to thicken up and get ruined shortly after you open them and they do not exude. 1-2 coats is all that is needed and that is a real plus for a busy lady!
I love the fact I got to choose the newest colours for the stores and was meant to choose 4 new tones.. I cheated and took 6! I mean, get an addicted person to do this task, what did they expect!?!
I chose tones that would be lovely for the fall and winter, I do however think some can be used all year around!
First colour is “The perfect cover up”.
This is a fabulous tone that I had to get! Like I said before, this is an addiction, truly! And I also love the name: “The perfect cover up”, but that is exactly what it is, it is great to put on even though the nails aren’t in the perfect condition. And I find it suits just about anything, it has grey and blue-green undertones and I think it fits equally well with bright summer colours as well as earth tones. It fits all skin tones and I believe this one will be a strong addition this fall and winter.
Secondly I chose “Fall in line”.
It is a beautiful olive green/grey colour and it suits my blonde skin perfectly! I sometimes find it a bit difficult to find a colour that suits very fair skin but this is definitely on the top of my wish list.. I might have to wait until after next payday, have I told you how many “must-have” items are available in our store?! Girl got to have what a girl wants you know…sometimes I just have to wait a bit...
Fall in Line is a lovely fit with earth tones and is wonderful for the fall! I also think it will suit brown and grey eye colours perfectly! I can’t hardly wait to try it!
Then we have Cocktail Bling.
This one suits everything! I love it for the night on the town and you won’t need to change for that Monday morning meeting. Neutral colour that adds that oomph for the total ensemble. Cocktail Bling will suit those fall colours wonderfully and will definitely be a great “go to” polish. It is a grey beauty with a light blue undertone that sometimes seems to appear a bit lavender or purple. The colours can vary slightly according to the skin tone.
I couldn't not get Angora Cardi.
I love this one, a burgundy colour with a hint of rose red and brown hot undertones. A hot colour that fits all sorts of events, especially a sexy date because you know, Angora Cardi is HOT!
Not to dark, not to light, just perfect… and I had to have it! Does that surprise anyone anymore?
This will be a beauty this winter and I have a funny feeling it will fit very well with the soon to be here fall collection from Volcano Design… stay tuned!
Decadent Dish is the fifth colour I chose.
Luscious, edgy and oozing sex appeal, this one will pop up that little black dress for sure!
Brown colour with a hint of burgundy and a dash of bronze gloss. I believe the bronze will be a hit this fall and this one is a good settle for those to afraid to go all out. It suits all skin tones and will be perfect for this Christmas or New Year ’s Eve!
Last but not least I chose a bronze glitter: Summit of Style.
I think this one will fit as a top layer over almost any colour and you guessed it, already mine! Summit of Style is super cool and I love glitter and bronze, what a perfect combination for my little raven obsession, plus it was kind of a must have for this weekend! I used it as a top coat over The Perfect Cover Up and I am loving the combo.
It is also lovely with lighter under colours or simply nude like you can see here..
Systur & Makar are going to give 3 lucky ones their favourite polish. Simply write what your favourite colour is and I will pull three winners next Tuesday, that will give you time to practice for the next weekend!
That all for me.. need to do some lacquering.. Later guys!
