My darling grandfather, who passed away a few years ago was well known for his inventions in the garage. At least among his family.
He used to convert old spoons for my grandmother by drilling holes in them so they could be used for draining beans or canned cabbage.
The original spoons
We, the grand kids, remember those spoons very clearly
To honour his memory Krista decided to re-invent his brilliant invention in a modern way. The spoons can for example be used to serve feta cheese, beans or corn.
Normal spoon without the holes...
Grandpa's spoon with the holes.. infinitely superior :)
This is such a great gift to bring to the dinner party!
Note the writing on the spoons comes in Icelandic. You can buy the spoons here.
Me bein babysat at my grandparents house, he loved the garden and was showing me something very smart I am sure from his green house!
Venjuleg matskeið !
Our grandfather passed away a couple of years ago so our grandmother get's a little "commission" in the form of large Christmas presents.
His ingenious idea keeps spreading and people love these spoons. They are perfect as gifts, especially to a dinner party whereas this raises a great conversation. Think: Christmas presents... ;)
