Well we have had a couple of busy day lately but that is exactly how we like it! So we did a pull from the „club night“ pot and lovely group of ladies came to us last Thursday. We had prepared a pot of mushroom soup, bread buns made of zucchini, whipped burnt butter and a chocolate cake with cream and raspberry sauce!
They were all so very enthusiastic and excited about the whole evening, I gather they enjoyed themselves as much as we did.
Then we went straight on to plan the weekend. We went to Akureyri, our first store and held a little spring festival. The weather was like it was ordered, wonderful, sunny and everybody were so glad to finally see a bit of sun.. (it has been keeping us waiting here in Iceland)..
We grilled some hotdogs with juice boxes and made Icelandic waffles with Nutella and cream as well as sugar free strawberry cream which is a wonderful idea from my sister I‘ll tell yeah.. so you simply mix a sugar free Jello powder with heavy cream, stir and blend together slightly and put in a whipped cream canister.. Lo and behold you got yourself a strawberry cream! And you know what.. It is also great on its own, or with other flavours.. go crazy guys! You can even see a video of it here:
And here is my sisters food blog, sugar, gluten and wheat free.. it is in Icelandic, but very beautiful if you want to get some inspiration here.
Well the festival was lovely, we had little spring inspired bonuses, a bag of seeds with a little “have a happy summer greeting” and face paint for the kids.. they LOVED it, and I really loved doing it, I sure need to get me one of those.. kids I mean, the comments, I mean seriously, it’s like they get so relaxed when they are being stroked in the face they open up: “you know my mom is pregnant, I would like a sister, but I’m not sure what she has, because I have a brother already, and she is DONE after this one, so I hope for the best”… love that! hehehe
Now another week ahead with exciting new stuff coming to the store so stay tuned ;)
