Here is a little story about me and Tóta and our good friend Helga, but we went to a detox centre in Spain about a year ago. Anyone who knows me and Tota just about at all would realize that this is so far from our comfort zone! But off we went, cakes and coffee at the airport (apparently this was very common among the "detox patients" which we found very funny!).
The week consisted of Juice, water, exercise, swimming, chilling, reading, sunbathing, juice, sleep!
No animal products what so ever, no caffeine, no alcohol, no nothing really and for the first 3 days we thought we would DIE!
... But, after that, seriously we felt so amazing, way better than we could have ever thought! Writing this makes me want to juice right now.. in fact, hold on, be right back! ;)
So being completely chilled, very relaxed but having hunger pains, we met all this wonderful people! It was such a great thing to get to know people under such different circumstances, completely sober and chilled, and for the first days completely out of energy. Normal greetings went from being: "Good morning!" to being "How's your digestion?" and it was the most normal thing in the world! We got close, very close in these few days! :) Especially to this wonderful couple Charles and Suzanne. (I mean we were planning on opening another juice treatment centre, we were so into the whole thing.. then you step into reality and get meat.. things change you know! hahaha
Anyway, a year went by, and we get a message: "Hi guys, busy next weekend?"
What, uu NO!, "Well we are thinking about coming, would that be OK?!"... as you can only imagine, we completely lost it, jumping with joy like puppies we were so excited! this was so sudden and wonderful and we couldn't wait! So me and Tota started planning the weekend, we had to pack a lot into a very short time!
So I'll just briefly tell you about the first day, Friday. and in the next couple of days I will finish the story :)
Me and Tota picked them up at the airport with a card saying: "Retox Colony" (very fitting since there would be no detoxing done here!). Greeted them with one juice, the only one they would get all weekend, we planned on more fun sort of drinks for the rest of the stay.
Tota drove me home to finish preparing the dinner, and them to the hotel to check in. They then picked up Helga and Gunna, Tota's childhood friend joined us, they all came to our place were we greeted them with Champagne, hugs and kisses. Exchanged gifts, mostly candy which was very fitting! Laughed, lived and loved!
Such a wonderful evening!
Me and Tota love dinner parties like this: small courses, tapas style dining, cheese, jams, crackers, canapés and beef carpaccio. Oh and bacon wrapped dates, that is a dish that always hits the mark!
So we enjoyed the evening until we couldn't risk jinxing the next day, it was fully planned!
More next time..
