-day 3-4 in Copenhagen!
The Valentines-day is not quite as large here in Iceland as in many other countries! I do however appreciate days that applaud love so call it whatever you want, enjoy the day and LOVE with anyone, in any shape or form that being a partner, family, pet or simply yourself! Happy Valentines!
Back to Copenhagen! My sister and I were just waking up on day three after a long and much appreciated sleep. Like we decided at the beginning of our trip, our plan would be simple: NO plan, just ENJOY!
So sleeping in this lovely Saturday morning did not come with any sort of morale, but a gratitude for a wonderful dreamland!
We finally got ourselves on the move and we were headed to Nyhavn where we explored the areas every nook and cranny!
The weather was mild and nice but a little cold so the brisk walk was necessary to keep us warm!
We popped into a couple shops on the way and one of them was this very charming antique boutique Fil de Fer. Monica Zetterlund played on the radio and endless amounts of antique furniture’s, bits and pieces were scattered everywhere without it being messy or over the top.
I find it quite easy to adapt to different scenarios and change my mind, so the 1960’s style I was going to convince Tota to change the apartment to, now was replaced with 1920’s Art Deco style mixed with French detailing!
Dear lord: please help me own many houses and spaces in the future where I can decorate in any sort of style I fancy.. at that particular time because you know my mind shifts every other minute... oh and while I'm at it, loads of money would be great as well so I can buy whatever I need... Lots of love! -K
Antiques aren’t exactly the cheapest, but they aren’t supposed to be, right!?
María has been to Copenhagen a couple of times to visit Mekkín and Arnar, and on one of those occasions she stumbled upon a super cute French restaurant/coffee house/bakery. The owner is indeed French and celebrated for his amazing pastries. Since the discovery she has been there every time she gets the change and it was of course a MUST that I would go and try for myself! It didn’t disappoint let me tell you!
It isn’t very big but it was packed when we arrived so we waited a while to get seated. We ordered a freshly pressed carrot juice, omelettes, French fries and a layered mocha cake for dessert! The cake was delish and the food and atmosphere over all was very, very nice, I can easily recommend this one for any traveller! Plus they have a great variety of macaroons and those I will buy and try on my next visit!
Saturday night evening and it was decided, this would be the night we would go out and do a little dancing! After some heavy make-up tutorials and couple of strawberry daiquiris by Mekkín, we went out on the town and her friend, Kristín, joined us!
Couple of shots, drinks and kicking it on the dance-floor with matching bruising, muscle fever and sore stomach cramps from heavy laughing, we woke up the next morning a little grey. Well OK, very “grey” and decided to approach the day with utter care and spent it in the sofa like some epic potatoes with cleansing masks, movies and chocolates binge eating!
We have now learned that it is in fact A-OK to “not do anything" for a day, even if you are travelling abroad!
The day was in fact EPIC and we enjoyed the heck out of it in each other’s company, and since it’s Valentines: a big shout out to my girls is in order, love you to bits!
Create your own happiness!
