The day had arrived, the last day of our vacation where uncontrollable sugar intake, vacation and stress free walking about was our everyday reality!
It was cold and windy when we packed our bags to store them at the train station for the day. We had some time to spare until the flight so we began with a lovely breakfast, walking about and doing some final shopping.
We spent a while at Iestegade where we checked out some gorgeous designer boutiques and I would like to give Girlie Hurly a praise for great selection of fun products!
I bought myself two posters from Kristina Gordon but her label is called YapYap, very cool graphic art that I intend to frame and put above my bed.
Here we have “The Forest Book Club”.
Here we have “The Forest Book Club”.
Aren't they wonderful?!!!
We ended our walk about the town at the meat market district at a lovely Italian restaurant called “Mother”. Here we ordered a few different plates to share and I just loved the fact that each table had it’s own live basil plant to use if needed!
Please also note the very smart solution with the chair in the window, they just cut off the back legs so the chair could rest comfortably in the window sill, saving on space but adding comfort! I love ideas and solutions like these!
Very nice food and relaxed atmosphere that we can for sure recommend!
To end this epic weekend we went to La Glace, a highly praised Conditori which they themselves even call the best in Copenhagen. They first opened it’s doors in 1870 and offer their guests to have a seat in or take away.
After walking around Copenhagen for these past 5 days, and please note that one of those was spent at the sofa with a bowl of candies for a whole day, we managed to walk 48 km. Not that we needed any excuse it was nice to know that we had in fact walked our asses off, so we chose a seat in at La Glace where we enjoyed coffee, a jug of hot chocolate with whipped cream and an assortment of 3 different slices of some masterpiece cakes! Bring on the sugar and everything nice: we were here to enjoy – and indeed we did!
Please also note the window decorations that are a combination of wonderful dresses and matching heavenly cakes!
Að loknu tertuáti í þessu notalega umhverfi var kominn tími á að sækja töskurnar og ferðinni var nú heitið út á flugvöll.
After some binge eating, it was time to head to the airport so a good farewell to our fantastic hosts was in order!
Dear Mekkín and Arnar, thank you so very much for a wonderful weekend full of experiencing, adventure, laughing and love – you rock! This will not be forgotten and we hope to barge in on you again soon!
