We have had such a great summer in our store, we just opened in February this year in Reykjavik, in the form it is now so technically this is our first real summer.
The amount of travellers, tourists and locals is amazing and we have been so fortunate to welcome them to our store. Loads of travellers are looking for souvenirs and mementos from Iceland but they want it to be timeless, not TOO "touristy" and one of the most popular and most common requests: "is it really Icelandic"?!
We are proud to be able to service these clients whereas vast majority of our products are made by us, in Iceland, very local and some even from Icelandic materials. This means we have loads of items that fit the brief!
Our store is a cosy boutique, with seating for waiting guests and hot coffee, they love that!
Often the conversations start flowing, questions about the store, the designs and the manufacturing as well as "where should we eat"! I can definitely relate to that, and looking for a local place recommended by a local is always a plus!
So after writing the same couple of places down again and again we decided to make a little brochure for the client to take with them. It is just our personal opinions and the places we love! We find it necessary to say that we did this completely by ourselves, the restaurants had nothing to do with it and I am not even sure they know about this.
Anyway, these are the places we recommend, the foodies behind Systur & Makar!
