There has been a Christmas card tradition in our family for years. Our mother was our greatest influence but she used to craft all her cards and they were all pieces of art really! Then she hand-wrote every single one - like 40-50 pieces each year, and they all had little "essay's".
María, my sister took up the tradition with her family but they have always created these super fun cards, printed yes, but often they included a little hand made ornament! (They are also crazy!)
María, which by profession is indeed a graphic designer, makes all her cards herself and they photograph themselves as well.. and I know the image here above was done using a "timer"! Just so fantastic!
We just loved this so we decided to start making our own and it began relatively "innocent".
Tóta dressed in a dress from me and I wore a vest and a turtle-neck from her. (both items are thankfully not among us any more..!) :)
People loved it! So we of course wanted to better and better every year here are the results:
When we sent out the ballet card- people went nuts! They loved it! We began to get ideas for next year's card and one friend asked to be the next years photographer.. year ahead!
But it was difficult to "top" the ballet.. so we just asked everybody to calm down and love peace and dressed up as Yoko Ono and John Lennon!
We don't know what this years card will look like, but it will be fun I can tell you that!
Create your own happiness!
